Golf Pain Lab Referrer Overview

A measured pathway for golfers experiencing pain

Golf Pain Lab provides assessment-led exercise physiology services for golfers over 50. We assess relevant physical capacity, establish an objective baseline and provide individual exercise recommendations within our professional scope.

Golf Pain Lab Referral Coverage

Appropriate referrals

Referral may be considered for golfers experiencing:

  • Recurrent pain associated with golf
  • Reduced physical capacity following injury
  • Difficulty returning to play
  • Strength or movement limitations
  • Declining tolerance for practice or full rounds
  • Multiple physical factors affecting golf participation
  • A need for structured exercise rehabilitation

The referral pathway

Clear Referrals. Measurable Progress.

Our referral pathway moves clients from initial screening and objective assessment through clinical recommendations, collaborative management and measurable reassessment.

We review the presentation, relevant history and suitability for exercise physiology assessment.

1. Initial screening

We explain the findings and recommend an appropriate recovery pathway.

3. Clinical recommendation

Where hands-on care or additional clinical input is appropriate, we coordinate with the client’s existing practitioner or a suitable provider.

4. Collaborative management

Relevant measures are repeated to evaluate the client’s trajectory.

5. Reassessment

Golf Practitioner Referral Partnerships

Shared Insight. Stronger Golf Pathways.

We work alongside physiotherapists, GPs and golf coaches to clarify physical capacity, coordinate roles and support safer, better-informed decisions for every golfer.

For Physiotherapists

We support tandem care where short-term symptom management and longer-term physical capacity development are both required.

The objective is a clear division of roles, shared understanding of the golfer’s presentation and an organised progression back towards full participation.

For GPs

We provide accredited exercise physiology assessment and individualised exercise programming supported by objective baseline measures.

Clinical communication can be supplied with the client’s consent.

For Golf Coaches

We help establish whether the golfer currently has the physical capacity required to produce the movement being coached.

We do not coach swing technique. We provide objective physical information that can support safer, more realistic coaching decisions.
